About Pre-Congress Training Workshops
The Pre-Congress Training Workshops aim to disseminate the latest scientific knowledge on issues of regional and global significance that have been comprehensively debated within the framework of IUFRO’s Task Forces. IUFRO-Special Programme for Developing Countries (SPDC) in collaboration with the Korea Forest Research Institute will be conducting this year’s workshops in the Forest Human Resources Development Institute from 16-20 August 2010.

The Forest Human Resources Development Institute was established under the Korea Forest Service in 2006. Located in Gwangneung, the Institute is embraced by serene hills covered in dense temperate forest. The Institute is committed to cultivate professional leaders in forest welfare by conducting various education programs locally and in abroad including forest tending, city part and green zone management as well forest fire protection just to name a few. In addition, the Institute also encourages learning through programs like Action Learning, Self-directed Learning and Cyber Education.
